This is the third pastor's wife in the news for a meltdown in the recent past. I always put myself in these womens' place and ask why did it get to this point? I guess I'll keep blogging, praying and taking my medicine.
I think you nailed it. Everyone - actually not everyone - but the pastor's wife expects herself to be perfect. Not even Jesus expects that so, you're right, prayer, communication, and medication. A powerful combination, that.
I knew from the my high school career at Calvary, that I could never be a pastor's wife, for many reasons. Kudos to you, Ness, and all of the other pastors' wives out there.
75% of the time I don't want to be a pastors wife, I just want to be my husbands wife and my kids mom, but there are those out there who seem to think we need to be on this pedastal and when we don't measure up they tend to let us know all of our failures. I truly liked it best when we were out of the ministry. . . no pressure, we could just be US!
I must be in a "Queen" (music) kind of mood. At first...I thought of ..."Another one bites the dust ( I am including these because I am sure they are before your time) but my "REAALLLY AWESOME THOUGHT" for this post, is "LOVE DARES YOU TO CARE FOR THE PEOPLE ON THE EDGE OF THE NIGHT, AND LOVE DARES YOU TO CHANGE OUR WAY OF CARING FOR OURSELVES"
You are doing that V. You are LEARNING, for the first time, to take care of business ...the business of taking care of yourself. When you Scream "let me out"..I'll help you. This CAN happen to "anyone"...but much less likely..if one is "taking care of business"..come on sing along...3 great tunes...Taking care of business..and the 2 Queens below.
How do you think I'm going to get along, Without you, when you're gone You took me for everything that I had, And kicked me out on my own
Are you happy, are you satisfied How long can you stand the heat
Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust There are plenty of ways you can hurt a man And bring him to the ground You can beat him You can cheat him You can treat him bad and leave him When he's down ....
"Queen - Under Pressure
Pressure pushing down on me Pressing down on you no man ask for Under pressure - that burns a building down Splits a family in two Puts people on streets It's the terror of knowing What this world is about Watching some good friends Screaming let me out Pray tomorrow - gets me higher Pressure on people - people on streets She been around Kicked my brains round the floor These are the days it rains but it never pours People on streets People on streets It's the terror of knowing What this world is about Watching some good friends Screaming let me out Pray tomorrow - high higher Turned away from it all like a blind man Sat on a fence but it don't work Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed and torn Why - Ooooh Insanity laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give ourselves one more chance Why can't we give love that one more chance Why can't we give love Give love give love give love give love Give love give love give love Love's such an old fashioned word And love dares you to care for The people on the edge of the night And love dares you to change our way of Caring about ourselves
This is our last dance This is our last dance This is ourselves Under pressure Under pressure Pressure
oh, yes he did. I really loved him. Somehow, I could enjoy his stories. When anyone asks me who my favorite teacher ever was, I say "Mr. McCrillis." Oh, about the backmasking, I don't what I think of it all. I do like AC/DC, though.

Yeah, it's been a little interesting to watch that story develop on the news out here. (I live 15 minutes outside of Toledo.)
What a nut job. :)

What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out
Pray tomorrow - gets me higher
Pressure on people - people on streets
She been around
Kicked my brains round the floor
These are the days it rains but it never pours
People on streets
People on streets
It's the terror of knowing
What this world is about
Watching some good friends
Screaming let me out
Pray tomorrow - high higher
Turned away from it all like a blind man
Sat on a fence but it don't work
Keep coming up with love but it's so slashed
and torn
Why - Ooooh

Of all my hats, I think I wear the pastor's wife one pretty lightly. But then again, I have a good sense of humor and all of you people (Hi Matt!)
I wonder if the backmasking on "on another one bites the dust" comes through when you read it in your head????
Kendra, did Mr McCrillis play that for your class?
You play it backwards and it says, "it's fun to smoke marijuana."
I'm in a silly mood.

Oops, I mean Queen.
