It's 2 am

And I am lying awake worrying about the Vintage children's ministry. I know I should pray. Think God could put on an addition in the next five days? And preferably with no drywall dust? These pics were from a few weeks ago...yesterday, I think we had about one square foot per kid. Thank goodness they liked my camp song reporatoir. It's been a long time since I sang "John Brown's Ford had a Puncture in it's Tire" but at least I didn't have to resort to "Rufus Raskus Johnson Brown." Wait, who ar these Browns and why do we have so many folk songs about them? Man, I need some sleep....

not that I'm side-stepping the issue but thank goodness you didn't go with "It was sad when the great ship went down" Remember? It was the song about the Titanic sinking that we sang in music class as the great Calvary Baptist Academy. I think it was in celebration of God's punishmentof the godless European Elite that claimed that God Himself couldn't sink it... Actually, there is a point to this message and that is a little encouragment that God is working in your church - He gave you a building (that might not be titanic in size) but He knows your needs and He will send an ice berg size solution... something creative will come out this that will make it better than you thought it could be. Pray Crazy, Girl

Oh ...and at least you had something legit to keep you awake and not just ADD!

I forgot about the Titanic song...but what was that one with the kicking donkey? And Miss Tait's Little Blue Man? Ash...hook us up.

I could always act out "Caps for Sale."

you didn't want to do "Peter and the Wolf" ?
The "little blue man" was a good one but, in a pinch, you could sing "On Top of Ol' Smokey" (and variations).
"They" always say you can tell the health of a church by how many young people and kids are there.

please draw your attention to my soapbox:

ahem...

i can't take it anymore!!!! i was indignant about that friggin' titanic song for years!!!!! it was like, our favorite song! "husbands and wives, little children lost their lives.." in a major key!!

and whaddabout that stinkin' "mr. moon" song with the "man behind us with a big shotgun"?!!!!! whatthe!!!!! cannibals and fried ham with cheese and bologna...for the final time! you end up in the middle of the mule!!! stop asking me every time we sing the song!!! i'm sorry that miss polly had a dolly who was sick...she got sick like every other week...give the stinkin' doll some echinacea!

i'll call you tommorrow morning to refresh your mind with songs that work really well.

i'm not bitter...or anything...

gotta say, there are few things that warm my heart more than watching kids singing with reckless abandon...makes me love my work and students every day. can't imagine what a kick jc gets from it.

i will now step down from the soapbox...thanks for your time...

Okay, so I know space is tight... really tight. But I do have to say there is one good thing about it. Every time I hear those kids laughing or singing, I am reminded about life. And hope for the future of Vintage. They are the ones who will be here after we're gone. They will carry on the mission that Vintage has set in place. And they know the mission because we set the example for them.

*sorry*

Anyway, that's my take on the whole thing!
