Today's the Day!

A snow day indeed. I now have three kids underfoot. Not going to get anything done today!

See my funny shadow?

How much snow does it take to have a snowday in NWA?

200 friggin' snowmen hanging out in my attic...i think i'll give them to my kids this year as presents....

the snow is exciting though! south florida would completely shut down! looks like you got a decent amount too! not just a dusting.

Looks just like Michigan minus the sun. The kids are so excited to go outside I'm taking them out to shovel. One of these days they'll realize its work = )

Love the wreath!

Ah yes, yours is definitely coming! It takes exactly 3 flakes to make it a snow-day in NWA. You'd really think the weathermen were going to explode with anticipation.

The snowmen, I must admit, had a near fatal run-in with Clementine, our hosts' dog last winter. Therefore, one of the girl-snow-persons is minus her arms and nose. Can't imagine those felt so good on Clemmy's gums.

I was out in a sweater too, but I don't think that was exactly right. I tried to shovel, but I must admit there is a semi-caution-inducing amount of ice under that white stuff. I kept thinking I have a containter of ice-melt salt somewhere, but I think it's on the porch in MI.

It's still there now, even with the sun!

That's the difference between snow events in Arkansas and MI or PA, ice. It seems we can't just get a nice 2-3 inches of snow. It hasn't happened in the 4 years I've lived here. It is always an inch and a half of ice with a little snow on top, or a little snow with 2 inches of ice on top. That's what makes it so freakin' hard to get around.

I feel so left out here cause I GOT ALL MY CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DONE TODAY!!!...and it's just starting to snow on our way home. This morning it was 67 and sunny and Dora and I played outside all morning; by 5, it had rained buckets and the wind was terrible and it was really cold. I haven't worn a coat all week...it was so like TN all week I almost felt winter in PA wasn't so bad...but now it's coming and I'm ready to head south again.
Ash, my snowmen are up too. Dora thinks they're her toys and is really mad at me for putting them on the mantel; I fear, we too are armless but somehow I actually managed to SAVE the arms (as, I suppose having a Farewell to Arms--which must be painful)....so mine are jimmy-riged back in place with some high-class tape. Aren't you worried the snowmen will rise up and march against you?

Yeah...they're whispering something all right.....they're saying how about we make a trip to Mom's house...she likes snowmen...we are much better than that freakin fat man in a red suit.....saying hello...I am your friendly greedy little object for spurring on consumerism and masking it as well wishing and holiday greetings......oh my...was that too cynical.....Love ya'll.....Mom

What I meant to say is that I can't wait to start baking some cookies...the tree is decorated and the wreath on the front door and Dad is going to help me put the lights up and all my children are welcome to come home and visit anytime....Mom

forget the other kids--I'm the one who moved closer--just come to my house. I've started the baking, the tree is up, the wreaths are on the door and we can just watch cable and get drunk. Oh,wait, this is on Ness's blog....what I meant to say was, I can't wait to see you all and share. lol poor Ash, haunted by the souls she never sold. better watch out, or they're stick their pointy little arms in your eyes
