My kids do NOT sleep in. Ever. Vin usually greets the day with a smile and a leap out of bed around 5:30 or 6 if he is sluggish. And Charleigh likes to join him. Mattie probably would sleep in if the other two did, but since they are up, she gets up too.
Except this morning.
At 7:15, I dragged myself out of bed after a long night battling insomnia (or maybe 4 cups of coffee after 7 p.m.)
And they were all still asleep!
It literally felt wrong to wake them.

...and then there is Dora who makes her rounds of the beds each night so last night, Ron was out studying until 3am and Dora had taken over his side of the bed with me so he tried the couch but when she woke up at 6 am she decided he needed to share the couch too. It was basically a long night of musical beds for the two of them--not me though cause I was happily asleep after a long night of gift wrapping/baking/watching the White House Christmas special...I love the gingerbread house!
That is the BEST and worst feeling in the world. To actually wake up FIRST...it's glorius. But then you freak out for 10 seconds because you wonder if everyone else isn't dead.
Or at least I do. But maybe I'm weird.
:)
you aren't weird. I do it too.
Ok Court, this is scary to admit, but I actually saw the White House show too (wiffy was watching it while I was using the computer) but that gingerbread house was something.
Oh yeah, I'm up first every morning, and I never think everyone else is dead. And I don't like it at all. I'm usually way tired. Weekdays I'm up first, shower, wake up wiffy, wake up doggy, give doggy eye drops . . .. Saturdays I'm up first, I'm unable to sleep in in my old(er) age. Even when I've been up all night playing po po I end up waking up first. What's up with that? Sundays I'm up first, gotta load the truck with all the church crap, go over my sermon one last time. Getting up first sucks.
I wouldn't mind it if I could just be quiet and not have to talk to anyone. But the minute I get up, Vin is on me like white on rice wondering what is for breakfast and can he please have milk in a cup with it and could it be the blue cup and could he have the most and would I pack his lunch because he wants peanut butter and jelly...it is better than hotlunch he says....
I'm having a hard time getting up TOMORROW morning just thinking about it...
tammi, I wonder that all the time to. It's like when i call hubby and he doesn't answer....it's a genetic paranoia for me though.
Don't worry,A, you have a decent excuse for why you saw the show...Ness can tell you that I have a gingerbread fetish
