Anybody know what these things are?

I sometimes buy stuff to sell on ebay even though I don't really know what they are. Can anybody tell me what these two things are? One is tupperware, the other is pottery.

That top one looks distinctly like a fondue pot, because of the hole at the bottom. But I'm embarrassed to say that this antique dealer's daughter doesn't know for sure!
The 2nd photo looks like a "modern art" attempt at a pitcher, doesn't it?

THe tupperware item, coming from a tupperware lady in the 80's (what a nice Christian thing to be)...I believe is a CREAMER for milk. THey used to sell a sugar bowl with that same color.

if I recall right, you freeze the top part so it stays cold.and it fits in the bottom.

However. I may just be full of it too.

I think the top item is a toothbrush holder.

I agree, the greenish thing is a fancy half-&-half server.

Did I win a prize?? ;)

the top thing, i would agree with christine, could be a fondue pot... although, it also could be an oil burner thing - you know like you get at the body shop - those ceramic things that hold scented oil and you put the tealight candle in the bottom.

the bottom thing, you might could call up uncle rico - he's pretty tupperware savvy, you know. have you tried to run over it with the van yet? dang, that tupperware is STRONG!! :) in other words, i would defer to the tupperware lady (klasieprof) - sounds pretty convincing to me.

The creamer seems very clever and useful. Maybe you should save it for your new church for the coffee table.
(And not to mention, it IS vintage Tupperware.)

D...how is it that I've never read your profile before????

That doesn't even scratch the surface.

I love that music they play for Uncle Rico. You are so expecting something squirmy to happen and then he just sells tupperware and you realize that IS the squirmy thing he does....that and sniff everything.

The black pottery thing is only about 4 inches tall and not quite wide enough for a votive candle. I got it from an estate and antique sale. My money is on lighter holder and ashtray maybe...but I wouldn't know...I never inhaled....or lit up either for that matter. : )

As for the tupperware, I don't get why it comes apart? What's the "aha" factor there?

keep on guessing.....

According to a few ebay auctions, the tupperware item is part of an oil/vinegar cruet set. Try doing an ebay search for "cruet" and "tupperware". :-)

Hey Nancy, thanks for the tip! Now, just the black pottery thing left to figure out....

I think the black thing is a rejected darth vader helmet.

the top thing looks more like a planter from the picture but what do I know? :) Is there anything that Tupperware didn't make???
