The Reason The TV is Gone

I moved the tv in my bedroom into a closet yesterday.  I'm too weak to get rid of it all together when I know that just 30 dollars would buy me a digital antenna and hours of not having to think at night when I am going to sleep.

But I read this article this week and decided to put more books on my nightstand instead.

I've been carrying Don Miller's book Through Painted Deserts around lately and now here's his name again! This article addressed some things I've been pondering from a new angle. And I guess I'm supposed to learn something because Don Miller keeps finding me! Thanks for your part in whatever it is I'm going to learn!

BTW, I've known since I was 9 years old that I have to have tv at night to keep myself from thinking myself in to a sleepless corner. But then, the house in Enid that currently has no electricity (or water) ends up being a great place to watch the treetops against the night sky and the moonlight against everything else that's out there rather than an insomnia nightmare. Hmmm... you're making me think!

I've been threatening my children for the past several weeks that once summer arrives (we're still in school here in the north) that the cable with go! Now I'm shaking in my boots a bit because its almost here and wondering if I really have the guts to do it, not just for them but for myself. We WASTE so much time in front of that thing. . . .but I want to be true to my word (something I've been really working hard at doing) so . . . .
