The Tradition of Horse Painting
This is a Fayetteville staple...the horse outside of the Florist Shop. Local non-profit organizations sign up (a year in advance) to advertise their group by painting the horse. Many people said that although they have lived here for years, they have never observed people actually painting the horse. As you can see, this quickly turned into a Vintage kid's event. We came back later to do another coat, and if the rain will hold off, we'll be adding our logo and website. It is ours for a month and you must pass it to go to Starbucks, so you know that horse is seeing a lot of people every day.

ohmygosh! i just realized that mattie's wearing the infamous 2nd grade art shirt!!!! the only grade at the big cbca where you could express yourself creatively while finger-painting formerly used, plastic tv-dinner plates. that shirt rocks! so glad there's a new generation to wear it!
