Our Little Artist

Mattie made a self portrait in Art class that was chosen by her art teacher to be entered in an exhibit of pictures submitted from all the Springdale schools, Kindergarten through 7th grade. Her's was one of two from her grade (there are four 2nd grades at her school). She was so excited and we are so proud of her. Her picture was done in pastels. It makes me so happy that she gets to experiment with art at her school and try different mediums....who knows what she might do with it!

Oh my goodness!! Ness, I can see why they chose her picture.....her choice of colors and the shading.....she's a natural. it's so "Picassio", if you know what I mean. This whole process of development is going to be a fun one to watch. Makes me want to draw a picture. Her hair is so long since I last saw her, and when I think what I was doing and thinking in the second grade, I am totally just standing with my mouth hanging open in awe.....you kids bowl me over on a regular basis and now I get to watch it in the second generations....all I can say is WOW!!!
