Robb is scheduled to talk with a radio host in Detroit today at 4:00 central/5:00 eastern time. The host is Paul Edwards and he discusses God and culture. Looks like an interesting guy, but his roll of guests doesn't include any emergent voices that I recognized. Pray for Robb...he is under a lot of pressure from many directions right now. We really do believe that God is at work through Vintage, but we are feeling the opposition too. Most importantly, we want to open up a conversation with our community, not just create a lot of buzz among Christians.

My favorite quote so far is...
Paul- "Robb, you're more conservative than me."
Robb- "My mother will be happy that you just said that."
Hi there,
I listened to Robb. Which I was there to give support. I am praying for you. Glad you told everyone about this.
Tell Robb we said hi and congrates.
Kristie
Hey Vanessa -
He did a great job. Despite the jabs by Paul.....
I did feel that Robb did not have time (intentionally I'm sure) to really answer Paul's ending comments. I would like to see him interviewed again, specifically about the emerging church/post modernism.
But over all - it was great. Yay Robb, and Aaron, and everybody at the church with the playboy logo! :D
Sara...I cracked up about that too.
KRISTIE! How are you??? We so miss you guys...thanks for the support. It means a lot to us.
Karen...thanks much! It never ceases to amaze me how much it is like speaking two different languages, isn't it? I think he ended up talking more about the Emergent movement than we had initially guessed...you either get it or you don't!
WOW. I just think that ROBB showed extreme "grace". Robb, you answered with humor, and seriousness, and it was really enjoyable.
Damn. I just liked hearing your voice again!!
"My Son's Name is Calvin"...LOL.
"I'm talking my wife into getting up on stage (or up front with) with me"..(To have SEX??? oh..Sex TALK with her).OHH Q & A !!!
Good stuff. It came across a LOT different than the images and ideas and stuff appear.
The host asked Robb if he would "come back" in a couple of weeks and talk just about the emergent church.
i've been thinking about that verse...soemthing about....what you call a curse I call a blessing..what a lesson for ALL of us, that when God says NO, (as in the paper refusing to run the ads) , SOmething SO MUCHBIGGER than we EVER imagined may come of it.
SO ...'GO God".
That's awesome Vanessa - please let us know when he will be doing that. And yes, I totally agree with you, you either get it or you don't. It's like a conversion, eh? And once you do you wonder how you could have not understood it in the first place.
That paradigm shift is tough - but once it happens - it's amazing.
Praying for all you guys at Vintage!
Thanks, Karen...I'll let you know!
We are doing good. Edward was just talking about calvin the other day. The boys miss the kids so much.
Trust me guys, I get it. Sorry of you all felt like I was taking jabs at Robb; certainly didn't mean to come across that way. Thoroughly enjoyed the conversation and am looking forward to a follow up "emergent conversation" which, believe it or not, I really do get! Grace and Peace. Paul Edwards
Well, Hello, Paul Edwards! It was very brave of you to post here with all my girls....you really are "comfortable talking with anyone!"
It's okay...I've watched my husband play theological ping pong often enough to know you guys enjoy the fray and after all, a bunch of people agreeing with one another doesn't make a very good radio show. I know he had a great time talking with you. Bless you for giving him the opportunity.
Paul Edwards just commented on your blog!!!!
