odds and ends

First off, Court, the box isn't here yet. It's a box?

Still sick, but after spending all day in bed yesterday, I think I can be downgraded to "miserable head cold" from "one foot in the grave." May I just take this moment to say that although we never actually said the words "in sickness and in health" during our marriage vows, my husband has proved his faithful love this week! He has made dinner, come home during his lunch to check on me, let me sleep in in the morning (twice!) and just generally held everything together for me. He actually has me convinced that it is okay to rest until I get better. The man is a saint and he's doing a damn fine job of taking care of me.

Since I was really uncertain about whether I would live or not yesterday, I did some brief reading regarding colds, sinus infections (which can actually kill a person) and pnuemonia. Interesting factoids: it is actually better to be stuffed up and breath through your mouth. It may be socially awkward (mouth breather) but it causes the viruses in your nasal passages to die from being overheated. If you take medicine that clears you up, you keep them cool and alive longer. A low-grade fever is also not a bad thing either. It burns up the viruses too.

Finally got my family's box shipped -okay, so it is outside my front door, but the mail-guy should be picking it up any minute- so I'll be trying out the tracking number to see if it makes it to PA on time.

On my "hustle and bustle" list: a couple more projects that will remain nameless but pictures will probably ensue eventually, Mattie's school program tonight, a little more Xmas baking to take to the neighbors, cleaning up the house, wrapping presents and finalizing which breakfast casserole will find favor for the big day. We finished the shopping on Sunday, thanks to Sara, and may I just say, I am giddy about the kids stockings? We got them almost entirely at the dollar store, and they are just going to love all that cheap crap! It's all the goofy little stuff they love like bandaids, stickers, notepads and the like....good times! And Robb got a honey--baked ham from work! Whoo Hoo! Can't wait for that.

I promise to post when boxes arrive, okay???
