Thumbs up for....

Family Christian Store: they were throwing away their red cardboard display shelves, which work a miracle for my mental health. Perfect for organizing the kids' new toys and books which kept flooding the house with Polly's tiny boots, microscopic plastic dresses and King Peter's plastic sword.

My Sister Ashley & Hubby John: Their Xmas presents came in the mail (I guess they got lost) on Tuesday and brought a whole new wave of Christmas joy.

Miss Packman: Gift from aforementioned Sib Unit for Vin, which is my new guilty pleasure. Who needs a massage? I have 17000 points. I feel good. It's also downright adorable to hear the kids cheering for one another while playing the driving game. And Vin tells me, "Mom, I win that game every time!"

4#s of Dunkin Donuts Coffee Another gift, for me! I must admit that I am NOT a fan of Starbucks' coffee...I guess I'm just too much of an east coast girl. I LOVE this stuff; reminds me of getting thrown out of the sanctuary at Emmanuel in Boston : ) I actually feel happy about getting up in the morning so I can drink some more....not THAT is saying something!

Things that are fermented: I really don't know which is more relaxing to me... a nice glass of wine or knowing that the white vinigar I used to clean up the dog mess really made everything clean and odor free again.

The Oreck Handheld Vacuum We don't really have any carpet here, but this little vacuum is so handy I don't mind getting it out six times a day. It'll suck up the kids socks if I'm not careful.

Baz Luhrman's Red Curtain Trilogy: Robb got these for me to watch this weekend and I had forgotten how much I LOVE this version of Romeo & Juliet. It is pure brilliance. We also watched "Strictly Ballroom" for the first time and were pleasantly amused. Dancing with the Stars would be torture, but this two hours of -that's right folks- ballroom dancing, was very enjoyable. I didn't get to Moulin Rouge, but I had just seen it again on MTV's Movies that Rock or was it VH1? I don't know, but I can't help loving this one. I end up singing "come what may!!!!!!!" at the top of my lungs (while vacuuming) for days afterward.

optimism. what a concept.

Is that the Romeo & Juliet version with all the guns instead of sword play with Leo and Clare?

I love that movie!

Got Moulin Rouge for Christmas. Am partway through watching it. But sadly have not made it to the Come What May part yet.

Who knew Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman could sing.

A: yep...it's fan-freakin'-tastic. That Shakespeare guy is pretty smart too.

C: I know! It's amazing how many layers of talent people actually have...

I love the movie interpretation of the plot. The feel of the movie was amazing. And of course, the guns are just freaking cool.
